Although you will see the change right away in your facts it may take a few updates for the new numbers to work into the system. you can include value for your remodel by creating an owners estimate, but the real value of those improvements will be decided by your buyer when you sell your house. Zillow is a computer program. It uses an algorithm to figure out value. The computer does not take into consideration the amenities and condition of the home. It only takes into consideration the numbers like sqft size and age.

I think consumers are savvy enough to know that Zestimates are far from exact and your improvements will speak for themselves. But there is never a one-to-one addition to value from renovations and, as Colleen said, this is a downward market.

Zillow does not take into consideration many of the items needed to properly value a home. I would suggest talking with an agent about the current value.
