More than likely, this is a hijacked rental listing that is now being used in a scam.  This is occurring all over real estate sites right now.

You should not have to give any money before viewing a property and you should be able to view the property anyway.

I would proceed with extreme caution if you were going to pursue this rental and definitely not give any money by escrow, internet account or a company set up to accept the payments.

Take a look at this link for more help.

Once money is in escrow, it takes both parties to release it.

If you selected the escrow company, you are a bit better off; but it still sounds like a scam to me.

How are you supposed to see a property if the owner is not going to provide you access?  They expect you to harass an existing tenant without advanced notice?

What is the address on Zillow? Have you googled it and the phone number or email to look for scams?

If it is a scam, please flag it using the small white flag on the hoe page of the ad and consider posting the address and scammers name here in Advice. Doing that allows others to avoid the scam before they lose any money.

Yes this seems like a scam.  Becareful of these and many other scams like these such as on Craigslist.  We have seen many people take our rental property photos and "advertise"  a property for rent.  They request your inital deposit to wired to them and poof they disappear. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE! If something doesn't seem right it trust your gut.
