You are not the home owner so you cannot be held responsible. Even if your lease includes tax payments, it's going to the landlord and it's still their responsibility to pay them as the home owner...
However, the owner can be foreclosed on by the city/county if they wanted to, so be careful about getting evicted if that's the case.

Definitely not. As a renter that is not your responsibility. You also have rights in the event the property is foreclosed on which seems like a likely possibility.
