I saw a house for auction and then it never happened, how do I know if it was sold?

Sometimes auctions get canceled. It could be that the owner paid the back fees and was able to stop the auction since they made right with the debt. There could be other reasons. Try contacting the auctioneer's office or the lawyer's office and see if you can find out if perhaps it was postponed. You could check public records also in the county but sometimes those records aren't always updated right away. But it is not uncommon for an auction to be canceled.
