I want to put my home for sale on Zillow. How do I do this as a fisbo listing?

The value zillow shows doesn't match the value of my house. This will cause a problem when trying to sell. How can I get the right value corrected. My house was completely remodeled.

One other thing. After you've followed sunnyview's excellent advice, you can post your listing starting from here.

Terrific answer by sunnyview. It should add to her already lengthy count of best answers, that is if there's any justice at all on Zillow.

I can't top her answer shadevision, so I'll just throw this in. Good luck.

I think it is important for owners to take control of their home page. As a homeowner, you can claim your house and edit your home facts immediately. You can go to your main home page and use the yellow "Edit" pencil under the main house photo to claim your house and then you will be able to edit the facts.

The change to your home facts is immediate. If there is a change in your Zestimate as a result of the edited facts, that takes a little longer to show up in the Zestimate. I think I read that it takes 6-8 weeks to show up in the numbers if it is going to. So if you're selling, you should do that now so any changes will show up before you list.

You might also consider adding an owner's estimate or hand picked comparable houses to your home page to help make your page as accurate as possible. There is more information on how to do that here. Zillow is not an appraisal, but I think that making sure your facts are right and showing extra value in an owners estimate for your remodel is one of the best things you can do before you list your house. Hope it helps.
