Jones,
When people do rent to owns, very little of any rent applies to the purchase price.  It requires a non-refundable deposit that you lose if you can't complete the purchase when your option time is up.
You are far better off finding a low cost rental and applying all your time and extra money to repairing your credit.  You'll have a far larger selection of homes to purchase and having pets won't matter.

"Usually it is wiser to repair credit and save up a good down payment and then do a traditional purchase.  It is less risky to your money and will give you far great selection."

Yes!

 Yes!

"There are options where lenders are willing to buy a home and allow you to live in that home until you are ready to buy. This option should be a route you should consider for your situation."

No! Don't buy until you are ready or you're just paying extra to line someone else's pocket. You deserve better than that.

Rent to own is extremely rare especially in a seller's market.   An agent in your area may know of one or two.

Plan on a large non-refundable down payment.
Plan on the only amount going to purchase being the amount paid above fair market rent.

Usually it is wiser to repair credit and save up a good down payment and then do a traditional purchase.  It is less risky to your money and will give you far great selection.

No. Zillow does not offer that service. You can contact an agent in your area. They may be able to help you, but it is better to work on your credit before you buy since it gives you more choices, is less risky and lowers your loan costs.
