IP Range Blocked for Access to Zillow.com

Hi,

It appears that users from within our company's IP range given below have been blocked from viewing content on Zillow.com. Would you please be kind enough to whitelist these IP's.

1. 111:93:137:1 to 111:93:137:64
2. 111:93:133:193 to 111:93:133:255

I had earlier raised this to Zillow Customer Care via case number 01203626. Would you please be able to help?

Regards,
Ajay

Zillow does not block all I.P. addresses from ANY internet service provider... only ones that violate the terms of use, or the good neighbor policy.

Please read paragraph 2b of the terms of use again... it appears from your last post that your company may HAVE violated it:

"Automated queries (including screen and database scraping, spiders, robots, crawlers and any other automated activity with the purpose of obtaining information from the Services) are strictly prohibited on the Services, unless you have received express written permission from Zillow."

Zillow does an automatic block of I.P. addresses as soon as an unpublished given number of page accesses occur within an unpublished given time frame.

I've had Email responses from some tech people on occasion, but for the most part, they don't respond and rely on the customer service department to relay info.

Again, without compelling reason, they are not unblocking any I.P. addresses, especially if there was a blatant violation of the terms of use, or the good neighbor policy.

If you are a "research company" or "research institution", and not using the info for any "commercial use", you might check out the page:

Not sure of the issue, but interesting that Tata Teleservices seems to be identified as a major source of SMS spam and identified as pesky by some.

Zillow is a very reasonable and helpful company. Certainly, they would not have identified IPs without cause. Do you have any idea why Zillow might have taken that step?

Hi Pasadenan,

Thanks for your inputs. Tata Teleservices is a ISP for a very large set of users, including our organization. The users under consideration utilize Zillow information to carry out market analysis and usage should be in inline with Zillow policies. Is there a way to reach tech support with this request.

Thanks again,

Regards,
Ajay

I.P. addresses typically get blocked for site abuses and violation of Zillow's terms of use

They typically don't reconsider unless there is a compelling reason to do so.  People that steal content from the site are not entitled to view any of the pages on the site.

Posting spam on the discussion forum is also grounds for blocking the I.P. addresses.  See Zillow's "good neighbor policy".
