Hello there-
You still have different options in regards to owning a home compared to renting a home. If you are looking to purchase a home you could purchase on a land contract. This would require a percentage down and then monthly payments, just like a mortgage. You would have a certain amount of years before you were required to get a mortgage and pay off the remaining balance with a mortgage, or sell the home and pay it off. If you are looking to not purchase a home, then your other option is renting. This can be done with or without the assistance of a realtor. Are you looking to stay in Ann Arbor? Or are you looking to possibly live in Washtenaw county, livingston county or Oakland county . I would be more than happy to assist you in any further advice or in finding your next home.

Depending on the circumstances you may have a few options. Generally FHA requires 2 years from discharge on a Chpt 7, however some "special circumstances" may lessen that time. Depending on your income and other factors renting a home or apartment isnt unreasonable. Some investors offer rent with an option to purchase. Contact me for additional information.

Your only option would be to rent. If you can find someone renting out a house, you will have a better chance of not having your credit pulled. You will need for the bankruptc y to be discharged before you can qualify for a mortgage, and even then you will have some roadblocks.

Find a Rental on craigslist.org ... who ever doesn't pull your credit I'd say is the winner.

Even renting is problematic. Rentals usually require your credit to be pulled. You might not be able to rent for up to 2 years from many places.
I would say contact a home owner who is renting, rather than an apartment/condo/home from a business.

If I file bankruptcy and ruin my credit, where can I live?
