If I know the address of a home, is there any way to find out who the architect or builder was?

Yes, check the counties tax records of where the home is located.  If the home is in Solano County, simply go to www.solanocounty.com click Departments, then Treasurer Tax collector, then Online Tax Information, Fill in the address and the builder builder info is usually on there.  Otherwise you can always ask a local Realtor to do the work for you! Hope this helps.

Another place to look is in the city planning department.  Original construction drawings are normally kept on file along with approved permits.  The permits are usually issued to the builder in the name of the owner (works differently in different towns, but the info should be linked somehow).
