There are federal laws that protect renters if their landlord is in the process of foreclosure. To best determine your rights, follow the link to the legal assistance nearest you.

Welcome to Zillow.

In foreclosure situations, the tenant legally can stay through the end of their lease.   The landlord has no obligation to keep the tenant informed of the day to day issues related to pending foreclosure and/or bankruptcy.

If it goes beyond the actual foreclosure and you want to get out, you may be able to request "cash for keys" to help cover moving expenses.   However, there is no guarantee on that one.

In the mean time, you are still obliged to pay rent on time to the landlord to preserve your rights.
