You cant in the Zillow HOME info, only via MLS information and talking with the principals or agents of the home. A home inspection, doing a formal inspection, is your best source.

There is no need to put it in the public section of the MLS, but any prospective Buyer should get a disclosure package before they write an offer and you should disclose the un-permitted work wherever you can - the Transfer Disclosure Statement, your agent's Visual Inspection Disclosure, etc.

Take note, however, that underwriters are are begining to loo at county records against homes that they ae lending money on.  If thee is a difference in the information they may kick the loan back out and ask why.  So if you are thinking of selling, think about getting the permits squared away in order to avoid problems down the line.
