According to our agency, Prudential Douglas Elliman, most customers are searching the internet for sales and rentals.

Craigslist is a very good way to start. Local newspapers are also good. Ask questions to anyone within an earshot. That could be a very good source. Also, look up local property management companies.

Craigslist is a great source or hire a realtor. They will get paid usually by the landlord.

As an agent in the SouthBay area I use either Craigslist or the open market listing services. If you are looking in a area with very low vacancies I have found just driving and looking to be somewhat effective. Good Luck on your search.
If you are in the market to find a place to rent how do you go about looking for one.
