I purchased a house in March of 2000. I sold the house in 2006. In 2009 the I.R.S. wants me to produce the closing statements of the purchase.I no longer have this paperwork. I physically drove to the realty office  where I bought the house and I was informed none of the people from back then currently worked there. How do I go about retreiving this information as well as the attorney that was present at time of purchase

If you sold the house and had an escrow/title company involved, You can call them and they should have a record.
