In a listing, under "More Facts", is "Construction Quality". Is 10 the best? How is it judged?

The Construction Quality ratings I've noted in my city and surrounding areas are from 1 to 9.  My county tax assessor is unaware of any number or code they have that refers to the quality of a construction.  Please answer this question for me:  Does a lower number indicate lower quality and a higher number indicate higher quality, or vice versa?
Thanks for your help.

I suspect Zillow uses whatever is provided by the county, so if your county is 1 to 5 aren't 1 to 5 shown in the descriptions?

In the county where Zillow is located (King Co, WA), the range from the assessor's office is 1 to 13.

I checked with my local tax assessor's office and was told they really don't have a way to rate the construction quality.  They have a code that basically rates the house by comparing it to the surrounding houses and their values.  However, I've found variations between houses in the same neighborhood, built by the same builder.  The code they told me about only goes from 1 to 5.  On your ratings, is 10 the highest score and 1 the lowest?  I think to be able to have the constrution quality of a house rated would be very beneficial. Thanks for your help.

Construction Quality rating is actually determined by your local county assessor. I would suggest contacting the assessor' office or visit their website to know more about this.

Here's a good thread about Construction quality.

Thank you.
