A lawyer Does have to have a Real Estate license to obtain a commission. My wife passed the bar exam and is a licensed attorney, but also needed to take the California Broker exam to work as a Realtor. However, she was exempt from several classes, and was able to take the Brokers exam without having to do the standard California R.E. exam.

I'm talking about writting an offer for a client and participation in the transaction untill the close of escrow, and the title officer sends a commission check to the lawyer.
