If the county appraisal district has your square footage wrongly documented, you can contact the them and submit a copy of the appraisal you obtained when purchasing the house (so long as there was not an error).  If you do not have a copy of the appraisal, you can contact a local appraiser and get the sq ft verified.  However, unless you are planning on putting your home on the market or seeking a home equity loan, you may want keep your disclosed square footage at 2400 in order to avoid an increase in property taxes.  Hope that helps and good luck.
Sincerely,
Mike Pearson
