... to add, I've had 1 Canadian client contact me, and another from Vienna, Austria. Scottsdale is just a wonderful place to come to when vacationing in the summer, especially if you have a really cold winter.

I'm an American, but I live in Japan. I'll probably buy property in Japan, but will return to the US (where mortgages are much easier to obtain) at some point.
It's not just investment opportunities that this site is useful for, but also getting a feel for the whole saving-mortgage-purchase-payoff-home ownership flow. Things in the US are not necessarily the same as in other countries, so it's always useful to learn more.

I'm in Australia and planning to head to Fort Worth (Tarrant County, Texas) for purchasing in the next couple of months. Zillow is a great resource to assist with my research; I particularly love the birds' eye views, allowing one to get an idea what the neighborhood is like.

Utah is one of many great options out west where vacation residences are still afordable for non-rich owners. Targhee WY is another amazing spot I would recommend....
Cheers!

I recently read that Utah, particularly Salt Lake City, is one of several areas in the U.S. that were "forgotten" during the RE bubble and aren't really seeing any downturns. Other areas like this are the Carolinas, Wyoming, and some parts of upstate NY. This same article, I don't remember where or when I read it, said that Utah is probably the only place left in the U.S. that is actually growing in manufacturing. I have my own opinions as to why Utah is actually growing but I would like to hear from 'SaltLakeHome'. It seems like it's becoming quite an attractive RE market.

Contributions:5I read an article from the Arizona Republic yesterday discussing Canadian buyers in the Phoenix/Scottsdale/Mesa area. Just out of curiosity, are there any users of Zillow from countries outside the U.S. that use this site to research investment opportunities?

james
