Since they are advertisements either fed through a syndicating feed from their other advertising or entered manually by the seller or the sellers agent directly on Zillow, it would seem to be the agents and the sellers responsibility to maintain them. Unfortunately it seems their are a lot of agents that don't understand how these syndicating services work and don't maintain them properly or just plain forget that where they have entered online ads that don't feed directly from the MLS.
Zillow does not participate or have agreements with very many MLS systems so it relies on these feeds that many agents don't seem to understand how to maintain.

The agent is responsible for updating. Zillow has about 100,000,000 houses and <200 employees.

I know, it's frustrating. The best way to look for current homes is through an active MLS website. I'm sure agents in your area have a program that will allow you to search current, available homes. Zillow can take days to update price changes & new listings, so you could miss out.

Is Zillow.com or the real estate agent responsible for updating listings?
Is there anything that can be done to make the site more "real time"?
