Is it Time to Buy a Home in Atlanta

We think it's time to consider buying a home in Atlanta. The reasons vary - one of them remains that rents are about the same as mortgage payments in many Atlanta areas. When that happens, carefully researching the "Buy" option makes sense.

Careful research, [Website deleted by Zillow moderator.  Please refer to our Good Neighbor Policy for posting guidelines.] and sticking to a budget are components of success. By following a methodical and systematic approach, buyers can find a home that works and avoid the potential future problems.

Buy with your head - not over it.

I think it can be a great option in the more reasonably priced neighborhoods. I'm showing people houses these days where the buyer will save $300 bucks a month by not renting, and they could pay it off in 5 years if they are aggressive with the principal reduction. The monthly numbers make sense and appreciation is just icing on the cake.

It is time to get professional medical help  when one answers one's own question and ends of talking to himself/herself.

Try to buy a "Bank owned" properties aka REO properties.  Local realtors can help you identify those.  They are available in $50,000 to $70,000 range, built within the last 15 years, 3 to 4 BRs, approx 1500 to 2000 sq ft.
