Definitely a clever idea. One of those 'why didn't I think of that' moments.

That is a really neat idea!
One thing I am seriously considering adding to all our kitchen sink bases is a drip tray. You wouldn't believe how many cabinets we have pulled that were rotted out by slow drips from the drain or supply lines.

Like a lot of people, my under-sink was not in the best of shape. A really quick fix was getting some self-adhesive tiles, and putting them in. They are easy to wipe clean, impervious to water, and if one gets damaged, pop it out and replace it. All the tools you need are perhaps a knife, scissors and a tape measure.
Just pick up inexpensive tiles that match your colors/cabinetry.

Very solid idea. Thanks for the tip. Maybe I'll just surprise my wife and put it in this weekend.

Not only is it great to just have things organized under you kitchen sink, but its also better if there happens to be a leak. I know from first hand experience unfortunately. I had a leak from my faucet and there was so much junk under the sink that nobody even noticed it until we noticed the rug in front of the sink was wet. If I was a little more organized I would of been able to see the bottom of the cabinet and I would have seen the water from the leak. It was a mess.

I look under several kitchen sinks on a monthly basis, and find that many owners have multiples of the same items. This often means that it's a mess under there! I keep my fire extinguisher under the sink, and therefore need to have quick and easy access at all times!
The comment about keeping the sink uncluttered so that a leak can be spotted is a great response!

Really great ideas. I think combining the tile with the drip tray, and unflattering it are a really good combination.

I did end up putting in something similar to this, and my wife loves it! Thanks for the idea. Now I'm looking all around my house for other places that I can do something similar.
