This can be a tricky question.  If you have already put in the paperwork to retire, you are obligated to tell the lender.  If, however, you can retire in six months, but you have not decided to do so, you are not obligated to discuss that.  Of course if your retirement income will qualify you for the loan, the question becomes moot.  Simply make your decision based on the same factors we all use.
