I have lived in both places and in various towns in each state. From a tax and cost of living perspective Delaware is best, in my opinion. But, there are not a lot of organic jobs here at beach. If you tele-commute Delaware makes a lot of sense. But, I certainly miss being close to museums in DC and history of Annapolis. Not much traffic here other than Mid-Summer weekends. Lot of traffic in MD. Can't say I miss that.

Warm Regards,

Here is a blog post that may be of interest to you regarding some of the reasons to live in Delaware.

It is your decision and you should base it on where you would like to live, although property taxes may be lower in Delaware. If you need any assistance in purchasing a home in Delaware or Maryland I can either help you or refer you to an agent in Maryland.

I wouldn't say one state is better than the other. I think it's based on preference. Drive around a few areas that interest you and check things out. If you're interested in MD I'd be glad to help you in your search of a home.
