FHA requires a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy be discharged 2 years.
Conventional requires a Chapter 7 BK to be discharged 4 years.
Hope that helps.

2 years since discharge to look at it with solid reasoning/extenuating circumstances, supporting documentation, and clean since.
4 years not as strict.
I am pretty sure that is FHA and conventional but either way more than 1 and the rules could change (and probably will) again.

Three to seven years on a traditional mortgage. I beleive Mike B. is referring to FHA.

You'd have to wait 2 years from Discharge. The only other real possibility will be to find Seller Financing.

Is it possible to get a home loan after being discharged from a chapter 7 bankruptcy for 1 year?
