Interesting Wall Street Journal post today of the same title...  basically saying think long and hard before buying in today's market.  Agree/disagree??

Interesting article - thanks for posting.  If people thinking about buying follow this advice, they will save themselves (and others) lots of heartache.

Brief snippet:

Q: Given what's happening in the financial markets, is now a good time to buy a home?
A: For some people, yes. If you…
- have access to credit
- have fat cash reserves
- aren't already over-exposed to real estate
- have a secure job or income stream
- expect to hold the property for at least two years
…then now is an excellent time to buy.

Everyone else should take a breather...

Disagree.

You can still get good rates if you stay bellow the Jumbo limit. Choices are varied, and there are bargains available. I would say now is a good time to buy, if you have a reasonable down payment, and if you've got the wisedom to see through the current media spin.

Sadly, even with the markets the way they are right now and all the information that's available, many are buying simply because prices seem so low compared to 2005.

Well. its definitely a better time to buy now than 3 years ago, its also a better time to buy if you can wait another year, best of all, its better if you dont need or feel the need to buy at all. If you really have to buy, get one that you can afford, one that you'll love and one that you intend to be in for 10 or 15 years. If none of this is true, then its is never a good time for one to buy.
