if you do buy an REO ANYWHERE... consider a renovation loan.
Money to buy that "As-Is" home + money to fix it up.... all in one loan!
It allows you to get a mortgage when the condition of the property won't pass the minimum property standards required on the appraisal.

Now is an excellent time to purchase an REO, HUD or any type of home. If the home you are looking at buying is a home that will have repairs you will want to talk to your lender about the possibility of a 203k loan and the details behind it. Rates are amazing and so are the listings prices out there. First step is to make an appointment with your lender and start that process. Then contact your agent and start looking. Let me know if you have more questions or need some lender suggestions. Best wishes and good luck

Is now a good time to purchase an REO in Utah? Any negotiation room left due to cost of repairs?
