In my area there is an excellent website by the county (Washington State, Skagit County).  Other counties have less tech savvy sites, so it depends.  Contact your county assessor and ask if there is a website for such data if you have not found it thru a Google search.  If you have a relationship with a local Realtor, ask him/her if she will tell you the public site for such info.
