Is there another way, besides the MLS, to get sales prices?

Don't know about Texas but in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina you can go the county's GIS website and look up sale prices as well as other material information on properties.

As long as one is in a disclosure State, it is pretty easy to look up.  Many county records are now "on line", and Zillow provides a link to the county records website for most home details pages, plus as mentioned the sold price history is posted on the Home Details page.

But for the 11 non-disclosure States?  One would have to either get it from the buyer, the seller, a Realtor licensed in the area, or the MLS.  And since it is a non-disclosure State, they are not supposed to be providing you with that information.

Since you are asking about TEXAS, the info really needs to come from the MLS, and you shouldn't have access to that data if you are not a member of the local MLS.
