Jenkintown Pennsylvania - inside the school district catchment

I was wondering if anyone knows which month has the most houses listed typically in this area. It seems like a tight area to find a home in and I'm concerned we may need to settle elsewhere. Is the housing stock always as small as it has been in the last year or is it tied to the economy?

Jenkintown is a very unique community.  Many of the families that live here move within our community.  With that being the case, the local familes often have an advantage as the agents who live here know what they want and are constantly looking for them.  For example, right now I am aware of at 4 or 5 local families who want to move within the borough if the right home were to come available.

While I understand your frustration with the lack of available homes - you might consider how much that says about the comunnity itself.  Many people buy here with the idea of moving again to the home that is just right for them - whenever that "just perfect" homes comes on the market.  Jenkintown has a sense of community that has almost become a thing of the past in our society.  Neighbors here generally get to know each other.  We have a high level of volunteerism and teriffic schools.  As our community is just a little over half a square mile - all of the homes are within walking distance of two great train stations.  It really is an incredible place to call home.

I would be very honored if you would consider enlisting my help in finding a home for you here.  In 2010 I sold more homes in the borough then any other agent.  I am a lifelong resident of the borough and have been full time in real esate since 1988.  Just let me know if I can be of any help.
