Lots of people play the Cramer put. If he mentions a stock, buy puts against it 3-4 days later after it bumps up and then sell in 3 months and clean up.
What a jackass. The only thing he knows about housing is that NAR is full of sh*t. Now he sounds just like them.
If you have access to a fake portfolio, try taking his advice and creating a fake portfolio. Sadly, if you don't sign back in for a while...it's deleted (I used comcast). I took his advice one time on a show that he showed how to make a "bullet proof portfolio". It's been a while since I signed in to check, so it was deleted, but about 2 months afterwards...it was way down.
I can't even remember the symbols.
I just can't really watch him. When he's wrong, he'll say he's wrong but then tell you why, and what you should have done.
Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda...I really don't like him.

he reminds me of that guy everyone knows, who can always do it /better/faster/for less $/ bigger profit/ than you ever could, but he never DOES any of it, he just talks about it.
That's a pretty dead on assessment. Now that I know the truth about Kyosaki as well, he's pretty much the same.
I wanna see Crammer in the fetal position as he was on Oct 11 2002... thats when we had the bottom... He didnt say much on that episode of Crammer and Kudlow... He pretty much gave up.
I remember seeing him say "I have to buy a house in Phoenix to make any money" TWICE on his show during the summer of 05, pretty darn near the peak. I am dying to find a copy of that video online...
The Federal Housing Authority will put $300 billion to work to help homeowners with exotic loans and that will put a bottom in housing. <--Cramer quoted! In a sense, he is probably right. The $300 billion will surely help 400,000 homeowners with ARM loans. Foreclosure will be minimum. Cities will have funding to rehab abandoned houses and sell it for profit. There will be $8000 credit towards first time buyers for their downpayment. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! LMAO

If I had the time to look back into Zillow archives I could show you all how doomers hailed Cramer when he supported them with his "don't buy, don't buy" housing recommendation....my response then was he didn't know anything about real estate.
Now he says buy and the doomers have turned against him. My response remains the same.
The folks who posted on that particular thread several months ago know who they are!

I said then, and I say now, and I'll say tomorrow that Cramer is an idiot clown with sound effects. I don't know to whom you are referring, but I recall distinctly that everyone with a clue acknowleged that Cramer was a yutz. But even yutzes can be right once in a while, through the law of large numbers.

We watch Mad Money to know what the hell to stay away from in the market. Hub has a fun time pointing out all of Cramer's inconsistencies and incorrect picks. It is only barely tolerable if you watch it on a DVR and fast forward through the silly rants.
I never did try playing the "Cramer Put". I like that idea. My worry at this point would be that the trade is too well known. I mean does anyone actually believe this guy anymore? For a while there was a very cool Youtube vid someone put together showing him in split-frame contradicting himself over and over. In one exchange he flip-flop-flip-flop-flipped. It was hillarious. Actually, his willingness to reverse his position so erratically might argue against trying to play any Cramer Puts (unless you're going to do straddles, lol).

Cramer's no dummy. He's a Harvard man, an attorney, and was a very successful hedge fund manager. He's still a savvy investor. Even though his personality is caustic and I can't watch him for more than 5 minutes at a time, I read his stock picks almost daily.
OY! I do like Cramer! Still read his stock picks, and I think he's at least as smart as you are Randy. Cramer doesn't know real estate though...
I honestly don't have the time to go back and find where I said that....maybe someone ought bring all those posts back up to the present so we can go over them....all I found was the Cramer v. NAR prez thread, but I wasn't really looking that hard.

Oh yea!!!! Housing has bottomed. You won't have to torch your house anymore. Jim Cramer is never wrong(except 99.9% of the time).
