I did my Mod myself as well with success. Although not with Citi but I can advise you to document every call including who you spoke to, time and subject. Verify all requested info is received and send in your mod payment before they are due if possible. Keep in constant contact a couple times a week to check status. Make sure your financial worksheet is up to date and include every single expense. It can be frustrating but stick with it. I went through a 6 mth trial (to basically try to reduce my debt) and then a 3 mth at a higher amount which ended up being a few $$$ more than my new modified payments. I am very please with what we achieved and the lender.

Congrats. You are a one-in-a-million type with the intelligence, patience and fortitude to do this on your own. There are soooo many crooks out there (with many many legit mod companies and people - some already commented), I admire you.
I don't know the answer to your question....how many times have you heard that out of the mouth of a REALTOR? But I wish you the best!
Fight on!!!

Great Job. All you have to do now is to make the payments on time and make sure to follow up with the bank for any missing paperwork. good luck

i did the modification by myself. i didn't know what legit anymore so i called the bank up and asked for a mod myself. after getting run around for 6 months, finally they reduced my payment to about one half and sent me a package to start trial mod period. now what? is anyone in the same situation and a little bit ahead of me that can give me some insight? i've never been late on my mortgage but we did everything we could to stay afloat. thanks
