With three sites posting erroneous information, perhaps checking the book of records would be prudent.     Typos do happen, and getting to the root can make everything easier for you.

This is one of the most gorgeous homes in Detroit, in one of its most historic and fabulous neighborhoods - Boston-Edison. We acquired this home relatively inexpensively (for much more than $14K) in 2009 as a white box - painted inside, but containing no radiators, no wiring of any kind, no boiler, no furnace, everything had been stolen. We fully rehabilitated this home and brought it back to life and glory. Someone is playing dirty games posting misleading information about it. Or maybe it is a dirty game in the book of records.

Unfortunately you will need to try to find out what data provider Zillow is using, and I don't think they are usually forthcoming with that information.  I found the same 4/12 sale on the 1st 2 real estate websites I checked.

here

and

here

Maybe one of the 3 will reveal their source.

Good luck!

I did send a protest to Zillow a year ago. They did not remove the scam information. Here is the record from county office:

There is no indication of any sale last spring. Shame on you, Zillow!

Zillow does have some data errors, and will correct them when you provide the correct information.   Here's a link for  identifying an error in the sales history.    Zillow confirms the correct information with the county record office.

Zillow gets their data from PUBLIC RECORDS, so if they are wrong, YOUR data is wrong. There is no intentional LIEING going on - no one is out to get you, and no need to fight  Zillow, only understand why its there.

Read this first.....  http://www.zillow.com/help/

... and learn a little how to correct your data. For past sale prices, I would look to why your public records are wrong first. DID you get a loan at that time, and maybe it shows as a SALE ? DID you transfer partial or martial ownership ?

Sadly some of the neighbors probably DID sell for around $13,000, just a sad sign of the times for the Detroit area.

Anyway, its really neither here or there, your homes value is not extrapolated from erroneous sales prices, nor should it be worth any less (or more) to you as the owner.
