LONDONDERRY ANNOUNCES WOODMONT COMMONS - 1 Billion dollar deveopment

A massive new plan was announced known as Woodmont Commons to be build on 629 acres over the next 20 years at a rate of $100-130 million a year with a 1 Billion dollar price tag.

It is not approved yet, it is still in the planning phase and formums will begin soon in Londonderry. Reaction has been mixed from town residents who are split on keeping the rural character of this small town and those who are looking for commercial growth to bring tax relief.

It would be a mix of residential and commercial projects featuring new parks, ballfields, walking trails and a new town center. The types of buildings include single family homes, clustered developements, condominiums and commercial from small shops, to big bix stores and light industrial buildings and a nex exit off I93 known as 4A. 

It is an impressive project, it will be tossed around quite a bit by residents, town planners, politcians and the developers. Hopfully something can be agreed on to satisfy all sides. I look forward to watching it play out.
