Lenders that will refinance a home with a tax lien

Can anyone recommend any lenders that will refinance a home (VA loan preferred) is the home has a tax lien? According to the IRS, they will allow the the lien to be subordinated to the mortgage, but after countless calls with mortgage brokers I can't find any that will be willing to do this.

Your best option is to enter into an installment loan agreement with the IRS subject to them releasing the tax lien. Negotiate the best terms you can as they are typically reasonable to work with on repaying the debt.

If the IRS was reasonable, they would remove the lien and allow me to refinance so I could make payments to them

"if the IRS were reasonable".    Tax liens don't fall in that category!     Good luck with your refinancing.

I did one of these last year with Parkside Lending.   I am not in wholesale any more, but can recommend a colleague who is and can help you with this.
