The home style list is a great idea, but I have to say, the one thing I have found to be extremely inaccurate in many listings is the build date.  Especially when it comes to older homes.

For instance, the year for my home said 1935, when a simple deed search came up with 1916.

Just a couple hours at the courthouse can make a listing much more credible.

Just my personal observation.

Thanks for posting these resources Vince! This is great information.

Architectural styles are often "misread" by folks (both the pros and the "man on the street"). The importance of a home's architectural style is also sometimes underestimated by both buyers and sellers. In fact, architectural style can be a good starting point for conversations with buyers, as this conversation can help the buyer(s) feel their way through which elements are or are not important in their home search. The elements of what makes a home feel "homey" are very often directly linked to the architectural style and the buyer's innate preference for one style over another. --- Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Once we can correctly name and identify what we find beautiful in a home, we've set a path for the rest of our quest for home.
