Loan Modification

Hud counselor submitted my loan mortification package in June. I am current on my loan. I lost my job. I call countrywide about the loan status but they always ask me to call back later. What should I do? Do I need to hire professional?
Thanks

CW, like any other servicer around the country is overwhelmed with modifications. Because you are not late, you are very low priority. Homeowners who are delinquent and or near foreclosure are handled before a homeowner who is still current. If you wish to get quicker  action to your loan modification, you will want to hire a real estate attorney. Like Derek said, make sure they have a guarantee and check them out in their respective state bar. If you need further assistance, take a look at my profile and we can see what your potential modification looks like- best of luck

Sounds like you do need a professional.  Many agencies just like many of the banks are just overwhelmed right now.  You can also check here at this link for updates on your modification paperwork it's straight from the bank www.bankofamerica.com/cwcustomers  You may have to look into hiring an real estate attorney to work on your modification but if that's the case you would need to resubmit the paperwork over again.  Make sure they have a guarantee on the fee they charge you and also ask for previous loan modification approvals.  Good luck let me know if could of any help!
