I suggest having your current Realtor that already knows your personality, needs, wants and desires help research the right agent for you. I use my experience helping people do this all over the country.
I use my past experience meeting people at National Conventions, seminars, via real estate designations I have, etc., to help match them with proactive agents.
You can also contact 10 agents in an unfamiliar area and say "If you were moving and had to sell your home and couldn't do it yourself, who would you choose. May the Realtor with the best votes from their peers win"!
