The tax assessors office is the easiest way to find out, but James advice on the library is fantastic and could be fun.

One way to find the age is to contact your local tax assesor's office. They will have a record of when the home was built.

This question comes up often.
Here are some suggestions.
1. Lift the lids of the commodes and look for a date.
(this is a sure fire method if the original commodes are in place)
(also it will tell you when the commodes were changed)
2. Appraisal district keep some records so contact them
3. Go to your local library and ask to see the City Directories.
start in 1930 a date you are sure your house existed.
find your address and if listed start working back
eventually your house will not be listed and that is the year
it was under construction.
I like old houses and I used to remodel them on a regular basis, some time to the date and some time to the period.
Good Luck!
