Marsh-front living: What about insects?

Can anyone offer insight on how insects may impact the living environment on a tidal marsh-front property?  This is a new part of the country for me and before I select a home I'd like to know what to expect in that type of location here in Georgia.

If you don't get any answers here from local people, I would also try asking the city-data board here to see if they can give you some insight. That board is a great source of local information too. Hope it helps.
