Hmmm, very interesting. I did a bit of sniffing around for some houses in my neighborhood that I know sold in 2005 to 2010 and all the historical values show (as best as I can remember). You may have identified an important issue with your house. You can flag the incorrect sale of 2004 (in the table use the little grey flag on the right end of the numbers) and elsewhere (under "edit") report a problem (i.e. missing sales data).
I get the feeling that their customer service staff is stretched a bit thin at the moment, so I doubt it will happen quickly but monitor it for a month or two.

@Maryann,
You said your sale transaction history changed. The new algorithm change did not change past sale history. If this happened, then that was in error. I looked in our system, and found the 08 sale. It should be back up on the site within a few days.
For others-
If you looked at a market report on June 10th, and then later on June 17th, the discrepancy was due to the algorithm change.

Hi Bonnie,
You and me both. I find home buyers are paying attention to Zillow, so that reality is becoming the buyer's reality which may and does not often match the seller's version or our MLS market data reality. Best of luck for the remainder of the year.

Maryann, Its so ironic to me that you posted this in Moorpark and you showed the Skylark home a number of times. I went through a very similar issue with the property there but not because of any issues with zillow value but actual market change. When we first discussed marketing the home, value was easily 50,000 more than it was when we removed it from the market. There were many, many short sales and REO's that came up in a 6 month period in that peach hill area. It was terrible for those homesellers and other owners in that area. I hope there is recovery soon.

Thank you, when they did this change, they also must have wiped out the historical data from the most recent sales. We bought our place in 2008, and that used to be reflected accurately along with the correct sales price we paid, now, it states the property was last bought in 2004 for a price that does not accurately reflect the actual title records. 2004 was a refi/or title change for the previous owner, though it was not sold.
Any idea how to alert Zillow to these errors? I'm wondering if we are not the only home where these historical details were lost thereby decreasing our property values so dramatically.
Thanks for your help/advice! :-)

Zillow rolled out a new version of the Zestimate during the evening of June 13. You can read their announcement and some of the discussion here. As Zillow has acquired more historical data, at the same time the Zestimate historical values were recalculated from 2006 forward. Hence, the percentage change is comparing values from the new formula historical vs the date of your E-mail.

May Zillow home report home was over $500K, June is $430K??
