Membership fees for Rentals?

do we have to pay a membership in order to view houses? *All Over Rentals" requires $25 dollar fee or more just to view list and possibly see rentals. However, how are we guaranteed that these listings are still available?

Save your money, contact a good Property Management Company/Leasing agent (hard to find) and they will send you rentals for free at no cost directly from the MLS to your inbox.

If you use a rental service, sometimes they have a service fee. Is this a property management firm your dealing with?

I have used all over rentals in the past, and they were great. Your pretty much just paying for the credit report and application fee upfront. They just want to make sure that you have no evictions or judgements before there agents start showing you properties. They found me and my boyfriend a place within a week give them a call.

"Westside Rental's" does have a membership fee for their properties for lease. I cannot speak on how they protect the  member from expired listings. Perhaps you should give them a call and find out how the service works
You may also work with a "Realtor" on your Rental, however, most realtors do work with the higher end Rental market, where the owner needs our services, so that is something to keep in mind.
Believe it or not, many properties are rented by the owner, with a simple sign in the front yard. Another good way is to drive the neighborhoods you like and take a look.

You do not have to pay a fee to search rental listings on Zillow.

I would check on rentals dot com and review what they have available in your area. They recently purchased a number of the rental web sites and their access is free.

Best of luck to you,
Liz

You don't have to pay a fee if you go through an agent or contact a landlord directly (if you see a For Rent sign). But, if you use a rental service, they may have a membership fee. $25 doesn't sound too high if you have done your homework and checked out the company prior to paying. I would definitely speak with some of their other clients and see if the $25 fee was worth it!

Most real estate / property management companies will show you rentals for free.  The only fees you will pay is applying for the property ie background checks and credit reports.
