Menlo Park (The Willows) vs Los Altos

Hi, I'm looking at a home in the Willows and my other area of choice is Los Altos.  Understanding that both are desirable, can anyone give me some views as to which area is better insulated from price declines?  In other words, say we go through another 2008 / 2009 financial crisis, which area should hold up better?  realize it is a total hypothetical but would love to hear some views.

Go for the best schools! Even if you don't have children, or ever plan to have children...neighborhoods with great schools depreciate less in down markets and appreciate more in up markets, than areas with lower scores and less desirable schools.
