Zillow pulls their data from public records. It is not unusual for builders to change their plans slightly during construction, so a difference of of 2% is not likely to be significant and probably far smaller than the difference you'd see if you had two appraisers measure it today.

Where the Zillow get the square footage of my house of 2272 while I had 2228 on my blue print.
