My home was given $84/sq ft. It is a custom, upscale home that was built in 2009. Why so low?

It also has a 3000 sq ft hangar.  This is an airpark property. So access to a runway is also included.  How can this get updated?

Hello,

Depending on your location they could be pulling comparables from Rancho Sahuarita, where values have been low due to a lot of foreclosure activity.

Zillow uses tax records to estimate value, so they can't see or include many upgrades which a physical person would see such as granite countertops, tile floors and things of that nature. And the other repsonse is correct that larger homes have a lower price per square foot compared to smaller homes.

I hope that's helpful. Have a great day!

I don't know about the above answer.  There is another house in my neighborhood that shows a higher value for a smaller home with less amenities.

The larger the home, the lower the $$/sq.

Hangars are unique and hence could/would only be valued in a formal appraisal, not Zillow, sorry.
