My home was unfortunately foreclosed on. How can I find someone to help me find somewhere to live?

I was very ill for 7 months and couldn't work. I've been back to work for more than a year. If I'm upfront with my situation I don't get a return phone call or email. I make decent money, I'm a registered nurse.I live close to Birmingham, Al. There have been thousands of foreclosures here, just seems like a rental company, leasing company would be willing to work with me. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I am so sorry to hear about your problems. What you can do is offer, first, last and security and/or offer to put the money in an escrow account  (six months of rent) Or have someone in your family rent the place for you. You are right, you are not alone, there are thousands who have gone through this. These are tough times. Talk to individual owners, don't hide anything because they are going to do credit and background. If you have been back to work for a year and can show you work that will help you get a place. Best of luck to you. I am so glad you are over your illness.
