My landlord is selling the house I'm renting. How much notice does she have to give me to vacate?

In Michigan, we have leasehold rights for tenants. The landlord will have to fullfill the lease or the lease rights needs to continue with the new owner.

It will all come down to your lease. With a good lease, typically 60-90 days.

If it a foreclosure sale, they must by federal law give you 90 days notice if you have month to month rental.   (This law was signed May 9, 2009).   If you are on a lease, the landlord has to stick with the terms of the lease.

If it is regular sale,  see the regular Florida rules about tenant's rights.

and let me add that I've gave 1st, last month & security deposit, if they only have to give us 15 days notice, how is that fair that I only get 15 days on my last month when I paid for the whole month, how does that work???

I'm in the same situation right now in Florida also. If we have to give a 30 day written notice if we want to leave, why do we as tentants only get a 15 day notice? We were not given a written notice that they were even selling the house. How much notice do they have to give us to show the house, is it 24 hours or is that just in a lease?
Thank you in advance.

Where is your house? The correct answer really depends on where you live since each state (and even some local cities) have their own housing laws that would apply to your situation. You might consider posting your city/state to more replies.

In Florida, if you are on a lease the lease term must be honored (even after a foreclosure sale!).  If not, your landlord is only required by law to give 15 days notice to vacate.

are you a long term or month to month lease? If you are a month to month, usually it is 60 days (here in NJ) if you are on a lease, it may have to be up untill your lease expires.
