Does this mean that her father left the house to her when he died?

Hi,

A quit claim deed, just means that your brother signed over his rights on the house to you.
If no one else has rights to the house, you are now the sole owner, and responsible for any and all taxes, fees, etc., due on the house after the quit claim deed was signed.
