I am in the down town San Diego convention business and find it funny that every convention this year has experienced a minimum of 30% fall off in attendence yet the National Association of Realtors convention which is this week has reached it's full expected attendance numbers... Looks like while we are all suffering the realtors are able to flip their own bill and travel to SD. I guess the 8k is workign for someone! Glad I can help pay for it.

How many inspections does it take to pay for a booth? I hope you get your money's worth.

And I hope by now you have noticed that Zillow posts the number of views. Presently 63 for this thread, thus a views to posts ratio of 12. Really not that good if you are planning on "visibility". And the "posters" are going to represent a good cross section of who is "viewing" especially as posters tend to re-read when someone else posts... so it doesn't look like very many readers of this thread are going to bother to go to the convention, even if it is in their back yard and the admission to the exhibition booths is free.

Ah yes, the RE industry is thriving right now. An assured carted and still ridiculous commissions on top of their lobbying effort through congress to spend billions of dollars to bribe people to get out there and buy! It's a happy club.

Good link, Drew.

You're only seeing the best agents at NAR's convention this year. There are droves of struggling agents. Membership in the NWMLS was off about 15% last year, and we're expecting another 15% drop this year. There's no gravy train right now, but there are plenty of agents at the top that are still doing well.

As for the tax credit....that's another discussion (or about 10,000 discussions on the Z Boards). I'm sure you can find some comrades here.
