I don't know what this post is but I figure its just another 'made up'
reason to take more money from the working class Americans.
Trying to make up for someone else's 'over spending' .

The National Flood Insurance Program is not exactly "new"; it was established in 1968.  It was last revised in 2004 with the Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2004.  One can look up the zones for the insurance program on FEMA's website.  (Federal Emergency Management Agency).

For Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM's), FEMA recently changed the designations for "High Risk Areas" from A1 through A30 designations to AE designations.  (Base Floodplain where base flood elevations are provided).
(Specific elevations are more useful than elevation ranges of the prior numbering system).

The latest on flood Insurance is that there are now private insurance companies writing policies and residential properties built before 1973 are increasing at 18% per year. The new flood maps are scheduled to be out in 2015.
