In my opinion, that is rude. I respond to ALL my clients within one day, usually within one hour. That's the difference between someone who is working for the client and someone who is working for themselves.
steve, you are replying on threads from half a year ago, (this one) to 2 years ago... really, do you think that is helpful?

i wouldnt guess as to what the reasons are, but a few days to wait for a responce is fairly common esp on the weekend. They may of even been having an open house and hoping for a better offer.

Good luck on this home. I personally feel that a listing agent who is going on vacation, even if only for a weekend, should always have an alternative number. You can ask another agent to fill in for you if going out of town. It is also an injustice to the seller. Imagine in this market you have an offer in an don't know about it.
If you love the home try to forget about the frustration this has caused from the start. Your agent will guide you through the process, however, the ultimate decision is for you both to make. Good luck!

At this point you have no choice to call the office directly and speak to
the Manager.. No excuses for an offer not to get a response within a 24 hhour period. Good Luck!!

We finally heard back from him. *He went fishing! We are keeping our fingers crossed. The couple is considering the offer, but last we heard they (sellers) weren't willing to pay closing cost. So we said the price they countered plus closing cost. Hope it works out!

I would recommend calling the listing agent's managing broker.....prior to that I would call the agent to let them know you are concern and will be calling their managing broker to make sure your offer gets presented to the sellers...who knows the agent may be in crisis and not have time.....giving that person the benfit of the doubt...bets o fluck

I would remind the listing agent that your offer is strictly confidential and that it may not be used directly or indirectly to solicit/encourage other competing offers.

I would definitely have your agent contact the list agents manager. Absolutely unacceptable.

It sounds like your agent is trying to resolve this issue and is doing everything possible to remedy the situation. Hopefully we all try to provide prompt service knowing that clients deserve and expect the best.

You should ask your agent if your contract had a date that the Seller's needed to respond by. All Offers should have this so that the Seller's cannot hold your offer waiting for a better one to come along. You agent should call the listing agent's broker if they are unable to get in touch with the agent. Ultimately, the broker is the one responsible for the listing.

Thanks for your question and sorry you are having problems. If the agent is going out of town, that agent should have somebody cover for him/her. This is a disservice to both clients! I would first, make sure your agent is documenting everything which is why I love texting and e-mail, Facebook, anything like that. Why wait, have your agent contact the listing agent's broker/manager. In addition to you, the poor seller probably has no idea this is going on.
Good luck, hope this helps!

I just called to my agent to see if there was a deadline in the contract. If so, and time is up, then what? We still want the house.
Also she said he did state he was going fishing this weekend but would work the contract from his phone.
Oh man.

Was there a deadline to signing the offer?
I was on a business trip once when I got an offer, and actually got the offer with 45 minutes to spare.

NO response from agent or seller
What should we do now? I told my agent to call him and (as before) leave voice mail stating we must know something by the evening.
The only other thing I can think is of is for my agent to contact his office.
What do you suggest?
