Hi ARA1,
I see what you are talking about. We'll fix this and I'll alert the data team to this. Thank you for letting us know! You should see a fix in a few days.

My mistake about Zillow getting the info from local recorders. I'll never post that again. Pick a lock.

Zillow doesn't get the records from the county directly, but pays 3rd party data collection companies that specialize in such things to copy the records and put them in a useful electronic format.
Often, a refinance will look like a sales transaction of the data collector is not careful.
Make sure on your flag explanation you asked to be contacted regarding the resolution, as it can take time for the data collection company for the area to check the public records again.

Flagging it should do the trick. Zillow get the sales from the local recorder's office. If they are obviously low, then they usually pull them out of the calculations like $1 family transfers etc, however with so many low sales of REO's in terrible condition in some areas the low sales showing only partial value family transfers can sometimes slip by.
Give Zillow a little time to respond to your flag and if you don't hear anything back I hope you will repost here so your thread will go back to the top of the pile.

Thanks again! I think that is what i did the last two times but I did it again for good measure. I hope they respond! Now I am even more displeased to know that the bogus entry is used in the zestimate. No idea where that record came from!

I was referring to the sales price on the price history. Click the flag, and provide Zillow with a brief explanation and offer to send them proof.

If you look at the lower right hand corner of each comment made you will see a Thumbs up and a Flag...these Flags are on all Question/comments ..
Click on it and a box will pop up asking you to select a problem + there is a Comment space
I'm not good at explaining this kind of thing but what hpvanc was click on the Flag in the lower right corner of your Question then used the box to request staff attention..
Click on a Flag and give it a look..

Thanks to you both. The $195K does not have an asterisk. :-(
Can you explain what flagging means? I put an owner cmment that I think its too low and provided a comment. Is that what you mean?
Thanks again!

I have flagged your question. If you have not reported it by flagging the sale price on your property do so, if you have hopefully this post will get Zillow to respond.
Also, does the $195K transaction have an * next to it, if so it is not included in the Zestimates. If it does not have an * it is included in Zestimates.
